ASCOMUT: Functions and Services
ASCOMUT, established in 1946 by Edoardo Origlia, represents distributors and importers of machine tools, tools, woodworking machines, electrical and pneumatic instruments, hand tools, auxiliary equipment and accessories.
ASCOMUT's institutional aim is to protect the category's legitimate interests, as well as to examine and provide solutions to problems in the various fields of involvment by the member companies. The support and assistance is given at all levels: EUROPEAN ECONOMIC COMMUNITY, Ministries, Parliament and other authorities and organizations who are competent on the various subjects.
ASCOMUT either operates directly or through the Italian Confederation of Trade (Confcommercio) which it belongs to.
The association acts as a meeting point for all members of the sector in order to develop commercial activities.
For further development on international relations, ASCOMUT was one of the Associations involved in the creation of CELIMO, the European Liasion Committee of Machine Tool importers, since its foundation in 1971.
ASCOMUT also publishes a Directory of its members with the intention of creating possible meetings and to favour commercial development for its members.
ASCOMUT main services for member companies:
Periodic mailing of written communications regarding the main subjects of general interest;
Consultation and assistance to the companies in the following fields: tributary, legal, trade-union, administrative, safety regulations, trade with foreign countries, customs, etc.
Agreement with different societies and companies, such as Banks, specialized magazines, express delivery companies;
Organization of the "ASCOMUT QUALITY PROJECT " which will allow the member companies to prepare themselves for the certification of their quality systems according to the ISO 9000 regulations.
