Kazanorgsintez launches German installations
Specialists of JSC Kazanorgsintez have finished precommissioning before launching three palletizing and piling installations produced by Mellers (Germany). New lines will pack finished products (HDPE, LDPE) into compact pallets on eurotrays, which will enable to reduce to great extent losses of commodity output caused by break of bags during transportation and storage.
Polymers production is resumed in Kazakhstan
On the international conference “Prospects of petrochemistry in Kazakhstan” general manager of SAT&Company Ltd. N.Abdulov announced that in April-May this year Aktau plastics factory (Kazakhstan) is to resume its work. There are only two petrochemical productions in Kazakhstan: polystyrene production in Aktau and polypropylene production in Atyrau established in the 1980-s. Aktau plastics factory stopped working in August 2003, but in 2005 it is planned to put out 30-50 thousand tons of polystyrene at this factory. According to N.Abdulov, products manufactured will be exported to Eastern and Western Europe as polystyrene consumption in Kazakhstan is not large.
Sayanskkhimplast increases polymers production
On March 23 at a meeting of the body of active functionaries of Irkutsk region devoted to results of social-economic development of the region in 2004 general director of Sayanskkhimplast N.Melnik stated it was planned to complete modernization and to double polymers production by August 2006. The most urgent problem for the company is to obtain its own hydrocarbon raw material. To solve this problem the company will apply Kovyktinsk gas that will be supplied to Sayansk from January 2009. As Mr. Melnik announced, by the end of third quarter 2005 JSC Sayanskkhimplast is to work out a basic project for construction a gas-separating factory in the city. Under the project of supplying Irkutsk region with gas, not less than 2.5 milliard cubic meters of gas should be supplied to Sayansk.
Europlastic has increased polystyrene sales
In the first quarter of 2005 Europlastic has sold more than 12 thousand tons of polystyrene that makes up 110% in comparison to the same period of the previous year. As the public relations office reported the increase of sales was caused by excitements over launching the second line, as well as by raise of world and domestic prices on polystyrene. Europlastic is a trade representative of the polystyrene plant of JSC Nizhnekamskneftekhim and low-density polyethylene plant of JSC NefteKhimSevilen.
