China Screenprinting & Graphic Imaging Association (CSGIA), is a non-profit organization in screen printing and graphic imaging industry in China and supported by the government.
The fundamental tasks are to widely contact printers, manufacturers, sellers, scientific researchers and educators of screen printing industry in China, unite screen printing specialists, technicians and managers, and devote efforts to developing China's screen printing industry and strengthening friendly communication with screen printers abroad.
CSGIA was developed from its predecessor, Screen Printing Committee of Beijing Printing Association which was founded in Oct. 1981. It aims to develop China's screen printing industry. With its successful work, CSGIA joined SGIA and became a SGIA affiliated NAMP member in Jan. 1996. CSGIA is also a committee member of Asia Screenprinting & Graphic Imaging Association(ASGA), which was founded in 1993. In the past few years, CSGIA has been taking part in activities organized by SGIA, ASGA, etc.
SCREEN PRINTING China is a Chinese journal bimonthly published by CSGIA with first issue in 1983. It is focused on new products, new technology, the market, and the developing trend of screen printing industry in China. CSIGA has been entrusted to compile and publish ASGA Magazine in comparison of English and Chinese. Besides, some information leaflets , , are also published by CSGIA and distributed among its members.
In order to strengthen the exchange between China and the foreign countries, CSGIA has organized Screen Printing Exhibition annually since 1981. There are more and more domestic and foreign manufacturers and suppliers taking part in this great event. Its is an effective exchange channel for screen printing and graphic imaging industry. At the exhibition, CSGIA also organizes Golden Mesh Award competition and display for finest screen prints.
To encourage screen printing scientific technicians, educators and trainers in China, CSGIA has set up some Awards, such as 'S&T Achievement Award', 'Education Achievement Award'.
CSGIA serves as a main training base for screen printing and graphic imaging industry in China. As early in 1983, CSGIA started its training course. So far there have been more than 2,000 persons trained all over China. This training base has played more and more important role in this industry. The training course on screen printing includes stencil making, textile printing, sign plate printing, halftone screen printing, etc. From the very beginning, CSGIA has laid its training emphasis on integration of theory with practice.
With the cooperation of Beijing Printing Institute, CSGIA conducted a correspondence course in 1994 with learning period of one and a half years. After finishing the course, the trainees reached the level equivalent to high education in respects of theoretic knowledge and practical ability. CSGIA prepares to open this course by correspondence in near future.
