The School of Print Media is one of six schools within RIT’s College of Imaging Arts and Sciences, which offers other professional programs in areas such as photography, film, animation, design, fine arts, and crafts.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS

Undergraduate programs in the School of Print Media offer innovative curricula designed to provide graduates with a solid technical background and understanding of issues and trends in the print media industries, in order to implement and manage cross-media workflow processes.

  • Cross Media Integration
    The rapid deployment of digital technology has blurred the roles that traditionally distinguished printers, publishers, service bureaus, advertising agencies, graphic designers, website developers, mail and fulfillment houses, Internet publishers and other businesses comprising the print media industries.

  • Leadership
    This on-going convergence of design, imaging and publishing, and the rapidly evolving technologies that support them, has created a need for innovative young leaders—savvy to the technology and its potential— to help continue to shape the future of print and new media publishing.

    GRADUATE PROGRAMS

    Graduate programs in the School of Print Media offer innovative, integrated curricula designed to provide graduates with a solid technical background in cross-media digital workflow processes and a keen understanding of the issues and trends in the print media industry.
    Today’s print media industry consists of companies serving our society’s need for dynamic graphic communications by offering services across the communications continuum from design to delivery.
    It is a new industry created from the integration of services beginning with the creation of effective media projects and ending in their distribution. Cross-media workflow is used to meet customer expectations for unified media messages across a variety of media.
